toomuchinformation is devoted to promoting our musicals. We, which is Tim Saward and Darren Wayte, write musicals relevant to the twenty-first century, that are comic and accessible, and where thought-provoking and rigorously explored ideas are part of the entertainment value, not a pious add-on. We haven't finished this website yet but you can see our blog, the website (including video) for our in-progress show, <furReality> (about furries, who roleplay as animals online), and we're now embarked on Faithful, about the friendship between a white gay boy and a Muslim girl in West London. Below are videos from early readings of these projects. We are in the early stages of working on some material themed around atheism, of which we have so far created a song called No Answer, which was a finalist in the Stiles and Drewe Best New Song Prize 2008. See it on the right. The other videos are a section from the King's Head reading of <furReality>, and a try out of a song from The Loop, a 10 minute musical using a character from Faithful. The podcast version of The Loop will appear in the Spring on the MusicalTalk podcast, alongside musicals from other new British writers. We are currently looking for music producer/arrangers, with a specialism in electronic music production, to be part of the team. People who can work with Tim to sequence/synthesise our music so that it sounds great with live singers in performances and in the recordings we will release. You will be totally comfortable with contemporary popular sounds, but also have background knowledge of a number of musical traditions. We are also interested in hearing from other writers who make contemporary musicals (musicals that couldn't have been written before 2000) . Perhaps we could share this page?
